1 Bring your drawings to life using your imagination The basics of traditional animation will be explored while creating a digital story on the theme: "What is your favorite thing about Traverse City in the Summer?" This four day workshop is July 29 - August 1 from 1-4:30pm at the Weaver Building at 122 South UnionStreet, between the Bookie Joint and the House of Doggs and is for kids 8 years and older. The cost is $25 and requires pre-registration by calling TAP at 231-271-0104. |

2 Are you curious to learn more about traditional animation? Would you like to see your face animated as part of a larger collaborative collection of TCFF visitors? A Free drop in Flip Book - Flip Face session where ‘youth of all ages’ can engage in animation for five minutes or for an hour, is offered in the same location and times as the 'Favorite thing about TC’ workshop’! Swing by and give it a try! |

3 Students from Suttons Bay High School Film Club and other teens will be interviewing people on the streets of Traverse City during the Traverse City Film Festival and Friday Night Live asking: “How do you and Why should you, give back to your community?” The video clips will be edited by the students for a compilation on behalf of the United Way of Northwest Michigan for a fall event. Participate by getting interviewed by these emerging filmmakers on the streets of Traverse City! |
